Owl Flight Training

  • Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center 400 Garden Road Chattanooga, TN, 37419 United States (map)

Help us flight train our beautiful barn owl, Winnie!

Have you ever wanted to know more about owl husbandry? Now you can actually help out during flight training with Director of Avian Conservation, Taylor, and our newest Animal Ambassador, Winnie. Participants will learn amazing facts about barn owls and those age 13 and older will have the opportunity to don a falcon glove and participate in flight training! Keep in mind that Winnie is learning and may or may not successfully land on your glove. For Winnie’s safety, dogs may not be present during this event.

This program will occur Fridays and Saturdays at 1 PM. Children 12 and under are free, but you must still reserve a free ticket for them by clicking the link below.

Please read and sign the general liability waiver before getting tickets. Each adult attendee must sign this waiver to participate. Parents/legal guardians must sign a waiver for each child participating.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be cancelled.

We are also a force-free facility, so if one of our animal ambassadors isn't interested in participating in a program, we'll respect that and offer our audience a great alternative. We appreciate your understanding if your program changes.
