The Nature Playscape.
Welcome to the Nature PlayScape at Reflection Riding! These five acres have been specifically designed to make nature exploration and its benefits safe and available to all. Read on to find out more about this exciting addition to the Reflection Riding campus.

Natural Benefits.
Children who spend time in nature enjoy a surprising array of benefits, including improved health and cognitive functions, strong motor coordination, reduced stress, and enhanced social skills. At school, increased time in nature is positively correlated with improved standardized test scores, more enthusiasm for learning, and fewer school absences.
Natural Design.
You won’t find metal and plastic here! We used the existing features of the landscape and capitalized on what was already there. Hazards have been removed and rustic fencing has been placed so that children may enjoy independent exploration. Traditional playground equipment has limits on the way it should be used, whereas natural play areas encourage creativity and exploration. The Nature Playscape, in short, is designed to be what your child makes it.
The Natural Choice.
Ready to visit? The Playscape can be accessed from both the main parking lot and the Kiddie Trail parking lot and is open to everyone during our business hours. Members may use this space from sunrise to sunset every day of the year. Look for the orange sign on the edge of our main parking lot, or ask our lovely Welcome Services staff for directions! Donations are welcome but not required. The Nature PlayScape is free to all.
