Native Wildlife

For animal lovers

Time Commitment: Recurring time commitment required

Experience: Prior experience OR a willingness to learn required

Our volunteer opportunities in native wildlife help you support our Animal Ambassadors through either guided tours or husbandry efforts.

NOTICE: We are not currently accepting applications for wildlife volunteers. Please email Logan Epperson at logan@reflectionriding.org if you’d like to be added to our waiting list.

Wildlife Tour Guide

As a Wildlife Tour Guide at Reflection Riding, you’ll learn about the animals in our care, including each individual’s personal history and the natural life cycles of their species. With this knowledge, you’ll lead engaging, educational guided tours for the public through our animal area and help connect visitors to local wildlife and conservation.

Schedule: Saturdays, 10:45 AM – 2:15 PM

Animal Husbandry

The Animal Husbandry role focuses on the daily care and feeding of Reflection Riding’s animals. You’ll learn how to prepare and distribute diets, ensuring each animal receives proper nutrition. This is a hands-on position that includes working with predatory species and processing prey items as part of food preparation.

Because of the nature of the work, this role involves direct contact with mice, rats, prey birds (such as quail), and fish, as well as strong smells. Individuals sensitive to these conditions may not be the best fit.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
