Director of Development
Team member since 2024
Susan Day (she/her) is thrilled to be joining the team at Reflection Riding!
With a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of North Florida, Susan has cultivated a diverse background in fundraising over the years. Her journey began at Café Karibo on Amelia Island, where she spearheaded a successful special events program.
In 2013, Susan and her husband moved from Florida to Chattanooga, where she continued to expand her expertise in event management at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Transitioning to the role of Director of Annual Fund and Special Events at Hospice of Chattanooga, Susan honed her skills in fundraising, wearing multiple hats in a small development office environment.
Her dedication and leadership led her to the Alzheimer’s Association, where she oversaw fundraising efforts across Southeast Tennessee. Most recently, Susan served as the development manager at the Hunter Museum of American Art, where she played a pivotal role in managing membership programs, enhancing database practices, fostering corporate partnerships, and orchestrating signature fundraisers.
Beyond her professional commitments, Susan is deeply involved in the nonprofit community, serving as the vice-chair and treasurer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southeast Tennessee Chapter. She has also lent her expertise to various event committees, including Erlanger’s Believe Bash, AFP's National Philanthropy Day, and Lookout Mountain Conservancy’s St Elmo Trail Preservation Fundraiser. Additionally, Susan is an active class member in Leadership Chattanooga.
In her leisure time, Susan cherishes moments with her high school sweetheart husband, Jesse, and their two beloved dogs, Luna and Jerry. She finds joy in hosting gatherings, attending concerts, camping in her pop-up trailer, and exploring warm and tropical destinations.
With her wealth of experience and passion for philanthropy, Susan Day is eager to contribute her talents to the mission of Reflection Riding.
