Our Best Summer Yet

And, that’s a wrap—thank you for making Summer Camp 2024 our best summer yet! Sponsored by Local 3 News and Rock/Creek, we had such an amazing time from June to August with friends as we discovered the wonders of nature. We are so thankful for our campers, who made each moment extraordinary. We would love to hear your experience on this camp survey. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again next year! To explore all the fun we had this year, read on below for the highlights…

From our staff to you… thank you for making this summer unforgettable!

Sponsored by Local 3 News and Rock/Creek, Summer Camp at Reflection Riding is more than just a day at the park. It's a 300-acre classroom filled with hands-on discovery, wildlife encounters, and outdoor adventures that ignite young minds. We’ll make amazing memories, explore the forest, meet new friends, and have a ton of fun doing it! Summer Camp 2024 has reached its end, and we couldn’t be more excited to share how it went! Each week, our campers journeyed into the forest to learn all about the amazing life that surrounds us. Our main themes were: Wild Adventures, Eco Explorers, Into the Woods, and Biodiversity University (our older kids also enrolled as Eco Warriors or Nature Navigators). Depending on their age, each camper joined as an Opossum, Bobcat, Red Wolf, or Black Vulture. At the end of each week, we were proud to name every camper as a certified Junior Naturalist at Reflection Riding! Upon completion of a guided adventure journal, each camper received their special badge. Huge congrats to our new Junior Naturalists for this awesome accomplishment!

All in all, we had such an exciting time reconnecting with nature this summer. Friendships were made as we discovered the wonders of the outdoors together. From the ridge to the wetland, we made so many special memories. Our campers splashed in the mud (a classic!), met native animals, climbed trees, canoed along Lookout Creek, observed small critters in pond studies and log rolls, played all sorts of games, and made nature-inspired crafts. The Vultures also learned valuable survival and orienteering skills as they journeyed to Sunset Rock.
