Growing Minds in the Great Outdoors

Through field trips, partner school programs, outreach programs, and visits to our Nature Playscape, we reached more than 17,000 children with hands-on nature experiences this year!

Reflection Riding creates outdoor experiences that spark curiosity about the natural world. Through field trips, partner school programs, outreach programs, and visits to our Nature Playscape, we reached more than 17,000 children with hands-on nature experiences this year.

We also had our best summer yet at Summer Camp at Reflection Riding, with over 325 Junior Naturalists joining us for eight weeks of nature-filled adventures. Whether creating sun-infused cyanotype prints, canoeing Lookout Creek, reading maps and compasses, crafting sun catchers, meeting animal ambassadors, or learning how to compost, every camper proudly earned their Junior Naturalist badge.

Many campers traveled from around the Southeast for camp, with parents using the week to visit family or simply vacation in Chattanooga. One camper joined us all the way from Thailand while visiting family. Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Local3 News, along with Gearhead Outfitters, RockPoint Bank, Volkswagen Chattanooga, and individual donors, we were able to provide scholarships to 14 children. We are proud of all that our amazing camp counselors and our campers accomplished this year. We’re already looking forward to next summer.
