City Nature Challenge 2025 was a huge success with over 100,000 participants across the world. Thank you to everyone who participated in this internationally-recognized event!

City Nature Challenge 2025 is officially concluded. Thank you to everyone who participated in community science—each observation makes a difference! We’re excited to share that the 16-county, tri-state region surrounding Chattanooga competed well in the worldwide challenge, ranking near the 25th percentile. We observed 4,422 organisms, identified 1,492 species, and engaged 354 people. Wow!

Across the world, all participants made 3,310,131 observations, identified 73,765 species, and engaged 102,945 observers. This marks the first year of over 100,000 participants. When we work together, there is so much we can do! Thank you for being a part of City Nature Challenge 2025. Stay tuned for when we return next year!
