Tennessee River Rescue

Help us clean up Lookout and Black Creek in partnership with Tennessee River Rescue, WaterWays, and Tennessee American Water!

We are leading a volunteer-driven cleanup of Lookout Creek and Black Creek in partnership with our colleagues at the Tennessee River Rescue and WaterWays and with support from Tennessee American Water. We need your help!

Volunteers interested in getting on the water for hands-on creek cleanup are highly encouraged to bring their own kayak, canoe or paddle board for self use or to share. There will be a very limited amount of boats available from Reflection Riding. Those interested in staying on land will be directed to designated cleanup areas along stream banks and seasonal watersheds. Black Creek will be by foot only. You sign up through Tennessee River Rescue’s website and select Lookout Creek or Black Creek to help at Reflection Riding.

For over 30 years, volunteers have banded together on land and water in an effort to clear plastic and other pollutants from our vital watershed. This project provides a hands-on, community-based volunteer experience for our community, building an interest for improving, restoring and protecting our watershed and freshwater resources.

Generous support from Tennessee American Water has helped make this cleanup effort a reality. We have also received generous support from American Water Charitable Foundation to complete boardwalk repairs and keep access to Lookout Creek available to our community. We are so grateful for their support and look forward to another successful event to clean up our creek and protect our water sources!

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may be postponed or cancelled.
