Summer Plant Stroll Series #1

Join our Nursery Team for a stroll through some of Reflection Riding’s vibrant summer landscapes.

Join Lead Naturalists Hannah McLaren and Lauren Russek for a seasonal stroll through some of Reflection Riding’s vibrant summer landscapes. Together, we’ll explore spaces bursting with color and take a closer look at some of the remarkable plant populations that make the Ridge and Valley region so special.

Along the way, we’ll highlight standout July wildflowers, share ideas for incorporating native plants into home gardens, and visit inspiring natural scenes that can spark creativity for gardeners of all experience levels. Summer is one of the most beautiful times of the year at Reflection Riding—lush green landscapes, abundant blooms, and thriving pollinator activity make it the perfect season to gather ideas for your own outdoor spaces.

Attend a single walk, join us for a few, or experience the full series. Walk times have been scheduled to take advantage of cooler summer mornings and evenings, and each outing will explore a different trail, habitat, and part of the property.

Participants should be comfortable walking up to three miles on uneven terrain with some elevation gain and loss. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes. Following each walk, participants will have access to the Native Plant Nursery—normally closed for the summer season—to purchase available plants, ask questions, and get a sneak peek at upcoming fall offerings. Please RSVP to participate, donation-based.

This activity is best suited for participants 10 and older.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. We are also a force-free facility, so if one of our animal ambassadors isn't interested in participating in a program, we'll respect that and offer our audience a great alternative. We appreciate your understanding if your program changes. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be canceled.
