Prehistoric Tools & Weapons

Learn from Park Rangers from Russell Cave National Monument how indigenous people made and used primitive tools and weapons in our area.

Please join Park Rangers from Russell Cave National Monument as they demonstrate how indigenous people made and used primitive tools and weapons in our area. Demonstrations may include spear throwing with an atlatl, use of a bow and arrow, fire-starting, flintknapping, and cordage making.

Please read and sign the general liability waiver before getting tickets. Each adult attendee must sign this waiver to participate. Parents/legal guardians must sign a waiver for each child participating.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. We are also a force-free facility, so if one of our animal ambassadors isn't interested in participating in a program, we'll respect that and offer our audience a great alternative. We appreciate your understanding if your program changes. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be cancelled.
