Lower Meadow Wildflower Walk

Our lower meadows will be blooming with yellow tickseed and purple ironweed! Take a guided hike to see the beautiful blooms.

It's our favorite time of year - our lower meadow is bursting with color with the yellow tickseed sunflower (Bidens aristosa) and purple giant ironweed (Vernonia gigantea) reaching their peak bloom. Come enjoy the view on this guided hike with one of our naturalists.

We will be offering these guided hikes at 10am and 2pm on Saturday, Septemeber 7th and Saturday, September 14th. We will meet at our Welcome Center. Please bring water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. . In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be cancelled.
