Under the Wolf Moon: Red Wolves & Mindful Trails

Join the City of Chattanooga: Parks & Outdoors in the spirit of the full wolf moon!

Traditionally, the January full moon is known as the Wolf Moon, a name associated with the howling of wolves during the cold, quiet winter months. The Wolf Moon offers a chance to slow down, listen closely, and reconnect with the natural world during the stillness of winter.

You’ll begin your visit with the American Red Wolves, learning about these fascinating and critically endangered animals. The Red Wolves are ambassadors for their species and valuable contributors to the SAFE American Red Wolf program, which is a national program that helps bring this animal back from the brink of extinction. After meeting the wolves, you’ll embark on a guided, mindfulness-focused hike through the winter landscape.

Along the way, we’ll use our senses to slow down, notice our surroundings, and explore our own connection to the wild places around us. Come bundle up, embrace the quiet of winter, and experience the Wolf Moon as an invitation to connect—with wildlife, with nature, and with ourselves.

All experience levels welcome. Registration is required, as space is limited. Additional information with detail is shared by your instructor at least 3 days before the class. If you can no longer attend, please let our team know so we can move to the waitlist. Call Outdoor Chattanooga at (423) 643‑6888 or for faster response email info@outdoorchattanooga.com for more details or questions.

Please read and sign the general liability waiver before getting tickets. Each adult attendee must sign this waiver to participate. Parents/legal guardians must sign a waiver for each child participating.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be canceled.
