Join us, EPB, and the City of Chattanooga for free trees!

Join us for the Fall 2026 Free Tree ReLeaf! This biannual event brings free trees to Chattanoogan households every fall and spring season. Trees are integral to a healthy, safe home environment. Trees provide so many amazing benefits to a space: increased shade, lower energy use, reduced soil erosion, wildlife promotion, restored urban canopy, and improved air quality!

Who qualifies for a free tree?

All local residents who are an EPB customer or resident of the City of Chattanooga qualify for two free trees (per household).

What trees will be available?

Details will be coming soon! We always offer a selection of native trees and shrubs that are both beautiful and beneficial to the local environment. Most of our selection includes small trees and shrubs with at least one large shade tree option.

How do you receive a free tree?

Our free trees are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will start the giveaway on Saturday, October 24th, at 9 AM. When you arrive at our campus, follow signs to our Native Plant Nursery. Sometimes, the trees sell out within hours. Other times, we may hold onto our remaining trees for a few weeks until the last ones have found homes. If you’re checking in after the giveaway date, October 24, please call 423-297-6208 to see if any species remain.
