Certificate in Native Plants with Wild Ones: People, Plants, and Culture—How Native Plants Spread and Feed Our World

Learn the social-cultural side of native plants from the Tennessee Valley Chapter of Wild Ones as part of their “Certificate in Native Plants” program.

Led by the TN Valley Chapter of Wild Ones, this program is part of their Certificate in Native Plants Program designed to expand knowledge of botany, ecology, conservation, and uses of native flora of the Southeastern United States. This particular session delves into the sociocultural side of native plants and how these forces affect their distribution and use. You’ll dive into Indigenous and colonial history, urban ecological systems, and community-wide edible native planting.

To join this program, you must register through Wild Ones at the link below. All attendees must also sign the participant waiver for visiting our campus, listed below.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be canceled.
