Campfire Concert at Reflection Riding - Swayyvo

Join us for a campfire concert listening to Swayyvo under the stars!

Reflection Riding’s Campfire Concert series, sponsored by Hutton and Smith Brewery, OCI, and the Tennessee Arts Commission, provides a fun outdoor venue to enjoy some of the best artists the Chattanooga area has to offer. Join us on Saturday, October 21st for a night of listening to Swayyvo under the stars.

Chattanooga, Tennessee has given rise to a host of hip-hop musicians and producers using the blood and sweat born from Southern experience and memory. Tackling the expanding passages of modern rap music with an eye toward its jazz, neo soul and heavy 90's hiphop influences, Swayyvo (born Jerod Morton) has been breaking down the barriers between various genres for years and reinventing his sound and ear consistently. Sought after for both his virtuosic saxophone stylings and his knack for arranging unique and complex beat-driven movements without sacrificing his own individuality, Swayyvo has given Chattanooga's hip-hop scene a sustained direction in which to grow. Swayyvo has been seen collaborating with brands such a NBA, NFL, FORD, Nickelodeon, Vayner Media, and dozens of artists such as K Camp, Yung Bleu, Lute West, YGTUT, Project Pat, Sy Ari Da Kid, and Earth Gang.

We will also have a reading by local poet Erika Roberts before the music starts of a brand new poem inspired by her time at Reflection Riding. Erika Roberts is a creative strategist, poet, and community healer that uses poetry to facilitate radical self-care within communities that have withstood generational and systemic traumas. She has won several awards, such as the Cam Bush NOAH Arts For Health Award in the Arts Advancing Social Justice category, the BEC award for Best in the Literary Arts (2023) from the Chattanooga Business Elite , and an Impact award from Nooga Vision. She was the host of the Shades of Poetry Showcase 2023 and is the creator and curator of the late-night shows, Midnight Poetry. Make sure to come out before the music begins at 6:30pm to hear this inspiring new poem!
