Nature is the Best Teacher

At Reflection Riding, we value the importance of inquiry-based learning. Through everything from Nature Experiences to Field Trips, our team strives to awaken curiosity at every stage of life. This past year, we have hosted 10,764 kids on our campus through Forest Homeschool and contracted school visitors.

With the arrival of summer, learning kicks into high gear at our Summer Camp! This year, we launched the Junior Naturalist program to cultivate interest in and passion for nature within our campers, with special thanks to Local 3 News and Rock/Creek. As Chattanooga’s Best Outdoor Summer Camp, we reach back to our roots of unstructured play, tree climbing, and muddy shoes. The passion reaches far and wide with Ruthie Norton, who hails all the way from Atlanta, Georgia.

What Reflection Riding offers is the freedom to be a kid, just like wild freedom,” Ruthie explains. “It’s really hard to find [a summer camp] that’s not super structured and guides through nature while still being educational. I think that is a gift that’s super hard to find in our world that’s very mechanized and processed and scheduled.”
