Get ready for sun, mud, water, and fun with a little help from our summer camp sponsor, Rock/Creek.
Getting Camp Ready!
Getting ready for summer camp? We've answered some of the most common questions parents and campers have about gear. Plus, the Rock/Creek packing guide has helpful suggestions!
What to wear?
• Light, comfortable clothing. Quick dry materials and materials with UPF are great options. Choose clothes that can get wet and dirty.
• Shoes with covered toes. Wear sturdy shoes that cover your child’s toes. Tennis shoes, hiking boots or hiking sandals (with toe coverage) are all great options. Do not send your child in flip-flops or Crocs.
• A backpack with straps. Choose a backpack with thick, comfortable straps. Avoid backpacks with strings.
What to bring?
• A full change of clothes
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
• Hat
• A raincoat or poncho
• Plastic/waterproof bag for dirty clothes
• Water shoes or old tennis shoes (for water play)
• A full, reusable water bottle
• A non-refrigerated lunch
What to eat?
Send your child a lunch that doesn’t need refrigeration or microwaving. Snacks, such as Goldfish and pretzels, will be provided in the morning. If your child has food sensitivities, please pack two snacks separately from their lunch.
Bring a refillable water bottle to camp instead of a disposable one. We've even got a filtered water refill station in the Welcome Center to help make this easy for everyone!
New for this year! Every child will be provided a new Nalgene water bottle courtesy of our summer camp sponsor Rock/Creek!
What not to bring?
Please do not send your child to camp with toys or electronics. We are here to enjoy nature, and those items can be a distraction. Reflection Riding cannot be held liable for lost or stolen items.
