Native Landscape Management Apprentice
Jahore Vann is from Chattanooga, Tennessee, born and raised. He is in the 10th grade and goes to The Howard School. He applied for the apprenticeship program because Jahore has always loved the outdoors. Jahore would go outside to his backyard, which had a small forest, and play in that small forest all day. He would make creations out of sticks like bows and arrows and use the sticks as swords when he had fake sword fights with his little cousins. He also likes to go on hikes.
In his free time, Jahore likes to make prop guns out of cardboard and do army training in his house for fun. He also likes to play video games, like Call of Duty, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Division 2.
The apprenticeship focuses on removing invasive plants and how that helps restore the native animals forced out of their natural habitat when the invasive plants take over. Because Jahore loves animals and nature, he wants to do his part to keep nature and animals safe so they can thrive. Jahore intends to continue his career at Reflection Riding even after the apprenticeship.
Jahore wants to remind all nature lovers and visitors to put trash in the trash can.
