Solar Campaign Exceeds Goal
Camp has wrapped up, the kids are back in school and the final golden days of summer are upon us. We are proud to announce that the Here Comes the Sun campaign to install solar on our campus has raised more than 100% of its goal (it’s at 103% as we write!). We are excited, proud, and just plain grateful to our entire community for making this work a reality. THANK YOU to everyone who donated, spread the word, addressed postcards, stuffed envelopes, and cheered us on.
Donors gave in all kinds of ways, from volunteer time to help us launch the campaign behind-the-scenes, to giving online, to transferring stock, to asking others to give too. We really loved watching your gifts come in, and thinking about the community of philanthropists that make Reflection Riding’s work possible… your generosity inspires us! Here are just a few examples:
One donor gave in in memory of her father, who was a passive solar architect.
Many donors gave for the very first time.
Several donors stepped up their giving to the Annual Giving Society level.
Donors gave in honor or memory of their brothers, husbands, colleagues, and friends.
Some donors even gave anonymously.
We are planning to invite our community to celebrate with us at the first Campfire Concert this fall, on Friday, September 30th. More details to come!
Thank you, again, to everyone who supported this work. As we move into fall and winter, we’ll share progress reports as the work to move us to solar gets underway at our Welcome Center.
Gratefully,
The Reflection Riding Team
