Black Vulture (Coragyps atratus)

Vlad is an exceptional animal who loves puzzles and games. He entered our care after breaking his wing from car strike, and he has since shared his vast intelligence and loyalty with our wildlife team. During training for his walking program, he and his trainer came across wild vultures. He immediately took off running towards them but then stopped in contemplation. When called, he came right back to his caretaker. We appreciate his trust in us!
Vlad has been retired from his walking program, but he is visible to the public in our Native Animal Exhibit. He can be viewed during our Wild Wonders: A Close Encounter with Native Animals tour every Friday and Saturday.
