TCWPA Three Star Hike

Join TCWPA for a guided hike that commemorates the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Lookout Mountain, or the“Battle Above the Clouds".

The Tennessee Civil War Preservation Association, in conjunction with Reflection Riding, will host a “Three Star tour”, led by National Park Service Historian Jim Ogden, commemorating the 160th Anniversary of the assault on Lookout Mountain, the “Battle Above the Clouds.” This tour, on Reflection Riding's property that is now permanently protected via a conservation easement by the American Battlefield Trust, will examine the Union Army’s crossing of Lookout Creek as well as the assault on Lookout Mountain. The tour will cover 2.5 miles of walking over mild to moderate terrain. Appropriate walking shoes and attire recommended. Tour length: 2-3 hours

The tour is open to the public; however, pre-registration will be required as the number of participants is limited. There is no fee for this tour.

Please read and sign the general liability waiver before attending. Each adult attendee must sign this waiver to participate. Parents/legal guardians must sign a waiver for each child participating.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may be postponed or cancelled.
