Introduction to Cyanotypes

Explore the ancient techniques of botanical print-making using the power of the sun!

Join us during this hands-on workshop to produce your own unique prints. In this class, participants will learn step-by-step one the oldest photographic printing method to date. Whether you're completely new to the process or have some experience and want to learn a few tips and tricks, this class has got something for you.

Throughout the session, we will discuss:

  • How to choose the right supplies

  • Preparing and drying the paper in a dark area

  • Selecting natural elements (i.e. feathers, flowers, leaves) to make a strong composition

  • How to properly expose prints using UV rays

  • Rinsing and drying prints to produce the final piece

For ages 5 and older. All materials will be provided.

These programs will happen outdoors, so don't forget to dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring along anything else you might need to enjoy time outdoors in this season. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be cancelled and refunds offered.
