Follow the Fire

Want to make a big difference and experience Follow the Fire? Our general admission tickets are sold out. But you can still grab a benefactor ticket and not only enjoy this magical night but also directly support Reflection Riding's mission to connect more people with nature!

We are also looking for volunteers to help throughout the night - if you are interested, please email our volunteer coordinator. Cheers to giving back and winter adventures!

We think that winter is one of the best times to explore Reflection Riding! Follow the Fire is a beautiful opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy nature at night on the Reflection Riding campus. From night hikes to owl prowls, looking at the stars to a whiskey tasting, there will surely be an activity that speaks to everyone. Put on your warmest layers and join us for this fun, family-friendly evening and follow the fires from one experience to another throughout our 300-acre campus. Special thanks to our sponsors Chattanooga Whiskey and Naked River Brewing Company!

Activities during the event:

Owl Presentation - one of the Reflection Riding Naturalists will present a live animal program with one of our animal ambassadors, showing you some of the unique adaptations these animals have that allow them to rule the night sky.

Wolf Howl - We will meet our American Red Wolves and attempt to get them to howl with us! As the most endangered canid in the world, it's an amazing experience to visit with this critically important apex predator.

Night Hike - one of our Naturalists will guide the group in a series of fun activities that help show how the human eyes react to the absence of light. From coloring to the headless horseman, the activities will be fun for people of all ages.

Owl Prowl - One of our Naturalists will inform you about the hierarchy of owls in our forest and attempt to call owls and have them respond. This is often an excellent opportunity to get great views of our wild owls at Reflection Riding.

Night Sky - Amateur astronomer Rick Glassell will set up his powerful telescope near the pond for a closer look at the beautiful night sky.

Whiskey Tasting - thanks to our sponsor Chattanooga Whiskey, taste samples of their 91, 111, and 99 Rye whiskey. It will be the perfect way to stay warm once the sun goes down!

Pizzeria Cortille will also be on campus from 5-6pm with pepperoni and margherita pizzas available for purchase (credit card only). Beer and wine will also be available. If pizza’s not your thing, you can pack your own picnic dinner to eat before the fun starts! This event is fun for all ages and open to all - and it's free to members! Kids 12 and under are free with adult ticket.

Please read and sign the general liability waiver before attending. Each adult attendee must sign this waiver to participate. Parents/legal guardians must sign a waiver for each child participating.

As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be canceled.
