250K Tree Day

Tree Day 2019 is the largest community tree-planting project of its kind in America, during which volunteer participants will plant up to 250,000 native tree-seedlings in all 95 Tennessee counties. These trees are yours to plant on your own property and will enhance our environment and communities for generations to come.

Reflection Riding is a pickup location for Tree Day; we'll have a full scheduled of programming planned, so be sure to select our site and come out for some tree-themed fun.

Tree Day Programming

  • 9:00am Distribution Center Opens (at Reflection Riding - 400 Garden Road)**
  • 11:00am Identifying and Removing Exotic Invasives with Byron Brooks 
  • 12:00pm Lunch and Learn Student Exhibition and Lecture 
  • 1:00pm Urban Forestry Considerations & Challenges with Gene Hyde 
  • 2:00pm Tree Planting and Care Workshop with Matt Whitaker 
  • 3:00pm Log Roll with Phoebe Gilligan 
  • 3:30pm Forest Scavenger Hunt Hike with Jasper Kaloi & Miles Weichbrodt 
  • 4:00pm Log Roll 
  • 4:30pm iNaturalist Hike with Zeke Weichbrodt
  • 5:00pm Invasive Burn Bonfire and Entertainment (BYOB)
  • 6:30pm Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center closes

250K Tree Day is a project of a nonprofit entity and it depends on your support for its success. Tree seedlings are available on a donation basis. You select how much you would like to donate, $5, $2, or $1/tree. Tree seedling size will range from 1 ft to 3 ft will not change based on donation level. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

To promote species diversity, trees can only be ordered in bundles of 4. Each bundle contains 1 of each of the following: Red Oak | Pine | Fruit or flowering variety | Redbud or similar.  YOU CANNOT SELECT ONLY CERTAIN SPECIES. If you don't want one of the species, feel free to leave it at your pickup location for someone else or give it to a friend.
