Come kick off #ChaGives with a celebratory breakfast at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center. This year, we need to raise $20,000 to purchase a new outreach vehicle for our team. Our Honda Element was rear-ended and totaled (we're ok!) and can no longer safely transport wildlife, educators, or plants throughout the city.
What A New Outreach Vehicle Means For Us:
Part of our job as an environmental learning hub is to bring the natural world to our community. Not everyone can reconnect with nature by driving out to us. When we secure our #wheelsforwildlife, we can make our mission mobile. Some examples of how we'd use a new vehicle include transporting red wolves to meet their new breeding pairs, securing flats of azaleas to offer at our native plant sales, shuttling animal ambassadors to the vet, and driving to schools, festivals, and assisted living facilities to bring environmental learning to you.
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. A handful of local Chattanooga nonprofits and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to harness the power of #GivingTuesday locally with CHAgives, Chattanooga's own city-wide #GivingTuesday campaign.
