Gardens & Gardening

Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center continues the legacy of the founding Chambliss family and their colleagues who saw the potential for this property to showcase gardens and gardening.  Hundreds of native wildflowers were already present but numerous native (and some non-native) plants were brought in to enhance the local flora.

Our Legacy Gardens

Over the years, several memorial gardens were developed on the property.  They honor individuals who were dedicated to the beauty and joy provided by these gardens

  • Wildflower Cove
  • Oliver Freeman’s Hollow
  • Philp Memorial Rhododendron Garden
  • The Pinetum
  • Three Sisters Cherokee Garden
  • Fern Glade
  • Herb Garden
  • Susan’s Path
  • Holsomback Azalea Garden
