Docent Tours

Upon your arrival at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center, be sure to check at the Admissions Desk for the day’s Docent Tour schedule.  Our trained team of Docents lead guests on informative walks and talks throughout Reflection Riding’s Property. Keep an eye on our Calendar for dates and times.

The docents lead tours on the following subjects:

Wildlife:
Docents lead visitors on a circuit of encounters with our native wildlife, including deer, turkey, beaver, and many species of birds. The tour includes a stop to observe captive native animals such as the highly endangered Red Wolves in Reflection Riding’s Wildlife Wanderland.

History:
Docents take guests on a journey in the footsteps of early Tennessee Valley Native Americans, pioneer settlers and Civil War soldiers. Step inside the restored log homes of Cherokee Chief Walking Stick or Squincy Bird, and walk a section of the ancient Cisca Trail.

Grounds and Gardens:
Docents guide visitors on a walk, bike or drive around the Reflection Riding Scenic Driving Loop.  Experience beautiful gardens, the Great Trees of Reflection Riding’s Level IV Arboretum, lush forests, and colorful wildflower meadows.
