To Commemorate Ms. Jean Dolan
On this coming Friday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m., in addition to the community’s celebration of Veterans Day a special Hike at Reflection Riding and its miles of nature trails is occurring to commemorate the 101st birthday of our local resident and Signal Mountain Women of the Year: Ms. Jean Dolan. A longtime advocate of Girl Scouting, Ms. Dolan has been an active trail hiker and outdoor enthusiast for much of her long life. She continues to be an advocate for the health benefits of nature based activities at Reflection Riding and has become a symbol of the virtues derived from activities in the outdoors and her true love: hiking! This love of the outdoors can be traced back to her early days when she met her husband who was leading a rock climbing event many decades ago!
Her hiking friends from Signal Mountain are inviting people to come to Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center next Friday and sign up as a $50 annual member or pay the inexpensive admission fee of $7 for seniors, $10 adults to support the center and celebrate with Jean on this very special Day! For more information please call Ms. Nancy Thompson at 423 718-8305.
