Lights Mill Trail starts at Siren Pool where you see the sign foot traffic only. It climbs to the hub of trails that intersect at Bishop’s Bench. There are several special areas on this slightly strenuous hike to enjoy. Lovely rhododendron from North Carolina, hemlocks, and unusual rock formations will delight you.
Michael Light was among the pioneers who had established a homestead along Lookout Creek. In 1830 just after the Indian removal he took over the mill which Casper Vaught had built.
Stop and rest on the memorial bench in Margaret’s Glen, one of Mrs. Chambliss’ favorite spots in the park.
