From the beginning of the Blue Heron Boardwalk to its end, there are sights, sounds and, oh, yes, the smells of nature to engage you. Observe wildlife and plant-life in this unique and delicately-balanced ecosystem.
Stop to visit the George S. Bryan Discovery Treehouse. Saunter up to the heights of Paddler’s Perch and gaze out over Lookout Creek.
The Blue Heron Boardwalk was funded by the Garden Clubs of America Foundation and built in 1983—four years after the opening of the Nature Center—and is an American Disability Act (ADA) approved wheel-chair accessible experience.
Please Note: We have closed a portion of the original 1,400-foot-long boardwalk due to damages wrought during the 2013 floods. The Boardwalk no longer connects directly to the Wildlife Wanderland.
