Ailani Ramirez-Pineda

Lead Naturalist, Summer Camp Co-Manager

Team member since 2021

Ailani Ramirez-Pineda (she/her) is a Dalton State College alumni who graduated in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Communications. After graduating, Ailani was introduced to Reflection Riding when she applied for a position as a Summer Camp Educator in 2021.

Shortly after, Ailani worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Dalton State College and began projects that promoted and welcomed diversity and inclusion on the college campus. She mentored and helped students start an organization known as JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion). Ailani coordinated and partnered with other campus organizations to host social and educational events, and her student organization won a diversity and inclusion award within their first semester. Outside her student organization, she combined her major and diversity-focused projects to host events like mental health fairs and leadership conferences with organizations like DBHDD, GALEO, LAA, and Latina Professionals of Chattanooga. However, Ailani missed working with children and again applied for another Summer Camp Counselor position at Reflection Riding. She loves sparking a passion for nature in every child she works with, and Ailani believes she learns as much from them as they learn from her.

While Ailani has a soft spot for working with non-profits and children, she is also an animal lover. She has 200+ hours of community service at the NWGA Humane Society, and she has many pets herself, including one dog, twenty cats, a Green-Cheeked Parakeet, and a few fish. She and her wife noticed a large population of feral/homeless cats in her community and, together with others, started a non-profit called CAT CLUB. Ailani currently serves as the secretary on the Board of Directors for CAT CLUB.

In her downtime, Ailani enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. She also enjoys finding new music, attending concerts, dancing, and karaoke with her friends.
